Civimail not sending after upgrading & redoing Cron Jobs...

Am having to run the mail scheduler manually to get queued mail to go out.

Upgraded to 4.3.1 on 4/24/2013
Scheduled mail didn't send 4/24/2013
After rereading directions just thought I would have to redo the cron jobs but didn't want to take time until I got back home. (was at civicon)
Ran jobs manually over the weekend.
Got back on Monday.  Deleted and recreated the key and the cron job. 
Is running (shows in logs) but is NOT sending emails unless I go in and manually run the job at least 3 times.

Thought we had discovered the problem - we had also switched over to SMTP Mail and was getting errors from that - so switched back to mail.

No Joy! Still having to go in at midnight and send manually.  Cron Jobs are working every 5 minutes like they are supposed to but mail won't send.

Any Help or ideas Please??
