Event registration: collect information about individual AND employer.
May 09, 2013, 12:59:39 am
Hi all ...
We organize courses for (para)medical staff.
They can register for a course by themselves or they can be send by their employer to follow some course.
When an individual registers for a course they can have an option: "send invoice to my employer".
So, when someone registers for a course we would like to collect:
a) All information regarding the individual
b) All information regarding the individuals employer (it doesn't matter if the invoice must be send to this employer, we always want to collect this information).
c) Have a clear indication if the invoice must be send to the employer

I created a profile "Individual, Contact, " and I created a profile "Organization, Contact" for the information regarding the employer because we also would like to get a contact record for the employer (being the organization).
But, here is the problem. One cannot add profiles of type organization to an event signup form.
(I did add a field: current employer to the profile for the individual but that is not sufficient).

I'm breaking my head for a decent workaround but can't find it.
I was thinking about the "redirect url" option in the profile for the individual but that doesn't seem to work on event registration pages.

Anyone care to give some thoughts about how to get this done?
thanks in advance!
Johan.

Have you looked at the drupal webform civicrm module? It can do all that and more.

Hi,
I know the webform <-> civicrm module.
And I know I can use multiple contacts with this. But wouldn't this require me to create a webform for every course and sessions that we organize?

At this moment I have an event template and for every session we organize our admin staff just selects the event template, fill out the correct session dates for a course in the description field, and thats it.
By means of Drupal taxonomy and views I publish everything at the correct place on the website. Registration link show automatically.

So I'm afraid we will have to create a new webform for every new session we organize?
Correct?

thanks in advance,
Johan.

Not necessarily. If it suits you, you could set up a webform that automatically presented the user with checkboxes for every upcoming event of a certain type. So you could just keep on using the same webform, with the added advantage that users could register for multiple events at once (or if you prefer not to allow this, then the events field could be presented as radios instead).
