Thanks. I will go through and compare the Ajax calls with those on the demo.

I'm on Joomla 3.1.5. Could that be a problem?

I found the answer, and have reproduced the problem in the demo version.

In the Localization and Currency options, I had set the thousands separator to a single inverted comma ('), which is the convention in Switzerland.

However, this was messing up the CRM 'init' command which relates to money.format. This explains the "unexpected number" error, because it was reading the currency format as 'CHF 1'234,56', which clearly isn't going to work.

Great detective work Jern! That's the problem exactly. Will fix for 4.4.1.
