Does CiviCRM do: 1) Stored Searching or 2) Reverse Import Contacts into Drupal

Hi have two questions for you geniuses out there, please.   :D

1) Does CiviCRM have 'Stored Searches', so if someone went to the "Find Contacts" page there would be a dropdown of commonly used searches available and can these stored searches be saved and edited, much like "Field Mapping" can be saved and edited?

2) We wish to "reverse import" a group of Contacts from CiviCRM to Drupal.   These Contacts would then have usernames and passwords within Drupal which would allow them to access certain pages within the Drupal site.  Is this possible?

1. we call them smart groups and treat it just like another group. Checks the docs at: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Smart+Groups

2. Check the user_import module: http://drupal.org/project/user_import

With the "Smart Groups" you cannot generate a custom lay out for the output data, can you?  for example, if all I wanted was to generate a list of members with their respective organizations, can I generate a "smart group" search that would give only those columns?

Poor mans version of this is:
(1) Do an advanced search.
(2) Select the smart group you are interested in and select a search view (a CiviCRM profile configured as a search view)
(3) The result is what you want.

I'll let others go into more sophisticated approaches.

Depending on how your storing "respective organizations", you can probably get close to what you want using Profiles. In a profile you define which fields are searchable, and which fields show up as listing columns. HOWEVER, you can not include "relationship-driven" fields. (In 2.1, you will be able to include a "special case" relationship of "Current Employer").

Your other option if that's a show stopper is to use the custom search framework (available starting in 2.0) - and then you can define all aspects of the search including the SQL query.
