Hello,

for quite some time now, I have had to disable "Email Receipt to Contributor?" function because I get an error during the "processing" phase of registering for events and signing up as a member.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in "/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/dompdf/include/text_frame_decorator.cls.php on line 116"

This is one of some other errors I get when it tries to process events/membership registrations with Email Receipt to Contributor on.

Hey there,

This sounds like you might be on an underpowered server and/or you have complex custom data requirements that are taking up a lot of time creating the PDF receipt.

A few options (try googling around since this has come up before)

* disable the pdf generation
* edit the receipt template
* simplfy the custom data
