Greek in mail label
May 14, 2013, 02:28:08 pm
Hello,

I am having the following issue: When I print mail labels the city e.g. that is written in greek letters is appearing as questionmarks. This is happening also with the name etc..I would be grateful in case someone could give me a direction..

Thanks in advance

mathieu

I'm not sure if it's the right direction, but if I recall correctly, this has to do with the 'tcpdf' library which is used to generate the PDFs.

For example, I found this thread on the topic:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5333702/tcpdf-utf-8-problem

I think that the CiviCRM code itself for the labels is in civicrm/CRM/Utils/PDF/Label.php

If it's the case, it might be worth fixing it so that it uses an "export encoding", similar to the "legacy encoding" in the Localization settings.
