Multiple memberships for same person
May 16, 2013, 05:31:44 am
We have created a membership where a parent adds their child's details on a custom field.

But if the parent has two children and we create two memberships when we run a membership report to show, the parent shows as a member twice but only one child is listed.

Have you considered using Relationships rather than custom fields? So the Membership belongs to the Child not to the Parent.

And if you want the Parent to 'inherit' the membership(s) too, then you can set the membership type to be inherited based on that relationship

i think that would fit more closely with core civicrm approach

OK that works but we have struggled to get a profile page allowing the customer to sign up a child on a membership plan?

Any ideas?
