Online Reg- no confirmation page, "tell a friend" access denied
March 27, 2008, 12:13:44 pm
On Civicrm 2.0 with Drupal 5.7, users don't get a confirmation page, it goes staright from registration to Thank You.

Also, anonymous users registering for a civievent get an "access denied" message after clicking "Tell A Friend".

Tell A Friend is enabled, and per install instructions- profile listings and forms, make online contributions, register for events and access all custom data are enabled for anonymous users in Drupal Access Control.

My worst fear is that the rhythm really is going to get me.

1. can u reproduce on demo

2. i assume this is on 2.0.1? there was a bug with regard to this in the previous beta releases. You might want to upgrade and test

1- you are correct, 2.0.1
2- what is the address for the demo? I visited long ago but I did not save the link (yes I looked around but did not see anything)

thanks!

OK. I found the demo .. luckily I didn't have to enter an event, someone just entered a free event today to test "Tell A Friend".

While Tell A Friend just worked for me as an anonymous user on the demo site, there was no confirmation page ... it went straight from Registration to Thank You.

Any thoughts on maybe why Tell A Friend isn't working on our site? Again, it's an Access Denied message that the anonymous user gets.

I tried one thing with no luck .... allowing anonymous users to Add Contacts.

I'm wondering if it's something in permissions since it's an Access Denied message. I can't look at Drupal Access Control on the demo site.

I have followed all of the AVAILABLE instructions to a tee, double and triple checked them.

We will just have to go without Tell A Friend I suppose.

This is probably a result of a bug which caused an incorrectly formatted link to the Tell a Friend page from the Thank-you page (it affects Unpaid events only). The fix for this has been applied in our repository and will be included in a 2.0.2 distribution which should be available shortly. If you want to fix it yourself - check the comments at the bottom of this issue:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2153

BTW - in 2.0 the confirm page is "automatically skipped" for free events. This change was a result of community feedback that the confirm step was not useful / was an obstacle - for free events.

Thank you Dave! That did the trick!

And thanks for the info, that makes sense not have a confirm page for unpaid events.

 :)
