Clarification on Scheduled Reminders
May 20, 2013, 08:10:00 pm
I'd appreciate some guidance on a couple of things:
1. Is it possible to set a reminder right after registration or ASAP?  what if "when" is unset (ie. 0)?  Note that the email sent to confirm registration does not support tokens, so this is helpful.
2. The bottom part of "Schedule Reminder" form includes "Recipient(s)".  Will this increase or decrease the target recipients?  When going to "group option" the label changes to "Additional Recipient(s)"  does this imply a change in logic?
3. If you select an event type and do not select a participant status, will it trigger for all statuses or none?

BTW - feature request - to bulk process, filter and auto-delete reminders.  The list is quickly getting unmanageable and polluted with past events and I'm still just testing :)

Currently NO. Only options available for dates are - event start date and end date. Will need to add support for registration date as well.

It will be an additional criteria, will decrease the no of recipients.

Yes, it will be sent to all the participants (that are NOT deceased)

Thanks!  I love this feature. I'll add this clarification to the wiki but I think the UI is confusing.  Can you please confirm:

Default for Scheduled Reminders Type is Activity.  When you change to Event Type, the bottom "Recipient(s)" changes to:
Additional Recipient(s)   (note it will not revert if you go back to Activity)

That leads one to believe that in addition to the recipients indicated above, these will receive but you are saying the opposite.
If this is the case, I suggest changing the label to "Limit to: ".

Finally I don't understand why you would want to Limit to Manual Recipients and not just send them an email ...

Done for 4.3

For 4.4, we have decided to make it more flexible giving admin the choice whether the recipients should be Limited to or in Addition to
the rest of the criteria
