registering for multiple events
May 21, 2013, 02:01:01 am
Hi
I need to be able to allow my contacts to register for more than one event but have only one checkout process - I have been looking through the civi site and am I correct in the following - this feature is not robust in wordpress but it is if I choose a drupal installation?  Many thanks.

check the events in carts functionality which was contributed and merged into core a few released back

however, it might be at an alpha/beta stage, so you will need to put some developer resources / hours to get this to work for your site/use-case

Another route that some of us are keen to see come to fruition is by getting some better integration between Webform-civicrm and payments.
Webform-civicrm already allows for a single form to handle registration for multiple events.

There may also be routes to push the payment from webform in to an e-commerce module like Ubercart or Commerce but I don't think I have seen all the pieces plugged together.

another option is to use Commerce or Ubercart Products and then work on getting those 'products' pushed in to civicrm as events. the uc_civicrm and uc_civicrm_product and commerce_civicrm modules all go part way to doing but again none really provides a complete solution afaik.

I haven't tried the 'event cart'.

will be good to hear back how your exploration goes and whether you have any funds/skills to contribute to getting this put together.

Hi
Unfortunately no funds to contribute to the project (I am setting up a site for a charity) and though I know mysql and php am new to civi so wouldn't be providing much expertise.  For this project I am going to go with wordpress event and membership plugins that  have a working cart and I can code the other contact management stuff that is required.  Many thanks for your response though.
