Making Event Fee Editable in Dashboard
May 26, 2013, 08:11:01 am
I am using Civic with Wordpress. I have created a test event and I want to be able to make the Event Fee editable from the dashboard, so that if they pay only half at registration and then pay more later, an administrator can go in and update their record. Why is this not editable already and is there a way to turn it on? I have attached a screenshot to demonstrate what I mean. You'll notice the Total Amount field is greyed out.

To take it one step further regarding this point, I'd love to know if there's a way to also configure the software so that people can come in later and pay the rest of their tuition for the conference. These are "mindfulness in schools" trainings that cost upwards of $700 and we don't expect people to be able to pay all at once. So, at the very least, the event fee field for participants needs to be editable so if they send a check for the remaining balance we can edit it in the dashboard. Thanks in advance for any help offered.  :)

Editing fees etc has financial implications and hence is not part of core currently. it is definitely a much needed feature

Might want to check:

http://civicrm.org/make-it-happen#Self service view, update and cancel for CiviEvent and better event badges

this gets us a big step towards participants being able to edit their information (and in future versions their payments)

please do consider contributing towards the above make it happen. will help civicrm and civievent significantly if we can get that mih covered
