Importing columns of a csv/spreadsheet with blank entries
May 27, 2013, 09:41:06 am
I'm trying to import a list of contacts from a spreadsheet that I've saved as a .csv. Some of my contacts have 3 emails and 3 phone numbers, but some have 1 phone number and email, meaning I have an email 2 and email 3 column that has some blank cells. When I try to import them, it will leave out the entire row because it's not a valid email format. Id there a way around this, same for the phone numbers.

Could you post a sample csv file here that is failing for you?  I just tried importing a csv file containing an org record into the demo system that had 3 email columns, two blank, and that was accepted (only creating the one valid email).

I've attached the csv file I used on the demo site (very basic to test principle).  I imported email1 as home, email2 as work, and email3 as other.  Could you try something similar on your test system?
