Difficulties with multiple domains
March 27, 2008, 11:33:07 pm
I just completed a hellish upgrade of a client's install from 1.2 to 2.0.1 .

It seems the primary source of my problems was that some user at one time created 10 domains, probably not knowing what they were doing. Although the 'active' domain was id 1 (all contacts belong to this domain), the upgrader would assume the last domain (id 10) whenever it would insert a domain_id (for example, in civicrm_option_group).

My guess is that for proper operation on a real multi-domain install, it should create entries for EVERY domain in civicrm_domains ?

What's the process for confirming bugs in the upgrader? Can't exactly check on the demo site...

Matt - Do you have a "valid" multi-domain installation DB that you can test the 2.0 upgrade on? I'm not sure if / how well this has been tested for multi-domain cases (there are very few out there to the best of our knowledge).
