No frame theme for event registration iframe usage

Some time ago Hershel posted an interesting note about integrating an event registration form in an external website:

the iframe idea is doable--make a special theme with no "frame" for the CiviCRM site for those pages.

I'm wondering how this can be accomplished. I need to get the registration form without the Drupal/CiviCRM layout sections around it. The URL parameter snippet is not an option, because those html-snippets are missing the necessary submit buttons.

How can I deliver a special "no-frame-theme" for external event registration usage?

Philipp
