Upgraded to 4.3.3, contribute no longer works
June 04, 2013, 02:29:12 am
??? After the upgrade from 4.2.6 to 4.3.3 our contribute pages no longer work properly, but get this: ONLY ON THE LIVE SERVER.
Development machine is mirroring the server, except it has a different OS and file system.
Dev machine = Debian 7, PHP 5.4, Maria 10, nginx.
Server= Centos 6, php 5.3.17, Mysql 5.1.66, Apache 2.24.

Any ideas? Been scratching my head, going in circles for hours on this.

I have attached the page source for both, and DIFFing them reveals that the local one gets an extra DIV or two, as well as a lot of Civi javascript.

Your live site is missing the required JS code inline. Not sure why. Did you clear all templates and caches? Are you using any customized templates?

Hi Hershel, indeed, the template directories are cleared, cache cleared, server rebooted, update PHP to 5.4 even. Not sure about customized templates; I inherited this problem and am not exactly loving Civi yet, TBH.  :'(

Still cannot fathom how the same pages work on a local DEV server...I even got the host involved in looking at the OS to see if they could spot any issues. Nada, no errors, no nothing.

How do I check for customized templates? They are not inside the Drupal theme; I know that much.

Look at

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/path?reset=1

for customized settings. And make sure that the code is 100% the same on each site and also the DB's.

Thanks Hershel,
found that there was a custom template directory defined there. And there is a Main.tpl in there, a few levels deep. Unfortunately it is being ignored.
The main difference between DEV and online is that local runs as my username, not www-data or somesuch. On the server the httpd apache server runs as "apache" and all files are owned by "apache". The template is owned by apache and grouped apache.

Civi doesn't need to use another user for some reason?

Hmmm... that path does not exist on my local dev, in fact none of those paths do on that screen, yet the template works on local dev...

YESSSS!!!
 ;D
I deleted the file paths from those fields, all of them, saved, it filled with defaults according to the onscreen message, I went and checked... the paths were still the same, but NOW IT WORKS!!! Thank you Hershel!
