I'm interested in maintaining rotas in Civi relating to recurring events (eg a weekly meeting) - for example a coffee-making rota, a chair-setup rota, a post-event tidying up rota.  Some rotas are regular (eg person X is on duty every 2nd week of the month), some are irregular.  In both cases the rota members are drawn from a known group.

The sort of features we are looking for:
- a rota administrator allocates people to a slot on the rota
- for irregular rotas, notify people when they are allocated
- rota members arrange swaps or cover if needed, and the rota administrator should be informed
- an email reminder shortly before the event
- record it as an activity after the event (assume the person on the (modified) rota did whatever they were supposed to)
- view rotas in various ways: all the people related to a particular event, all the upcoming rota slots for an individual

More advanced features include:
-  be able to mark rotas as conflicting and warn of conflicts (eg someone might be on both the coffee & chairs rotas, but we want to avoid scheduling them on both rotas at the same event)

Has anyone implemented something like this?  Much of it seems close to existing CiviEvent functionality
