Why do price sets using a radio field always have a -none- option?
June 07, 2013, 06:31:32 pm
I've been struggling with this for a while and hopefully it is just a setting somewhere but regardless of whether it is CiviCRM 3.x or 4.3.3 whenever I create a price set using radio buttons, CiviCRM creates an erroneous final option of -none-.

For example, I created a price set for an event with member and non-members:
Members $50
Non-members $75

When I apply this to an event I get
Members $50
Non-members $75
-none- $0

I've looked at this on no less than 6 different installations of CiviCRM (Drupal sites) and they all do the same thing. At the moment I'm using CSS to hide the erroneous fields but there must be a way to turn this feature off.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Andrew

If you edit the priceset field to be "required" then the user will not be offered "none" as a choice.

Oh, it's that simple.

I've been wondering about it for longer than I'd like to admit  :-[

Thanks,
Andrew
