Financial Type reporting issue since upgrade to 4.3.3
June 10, 2013, 09:25:06 am
I'm having a strange issue with financial types and reporting since I upgraded from 4.2.6 to 4.3.3.

I have several financial types I use with events and when I upgraded, civi created a new financial type 'Event Fees'.  Likewise, a new 'Donation' type was added to several types I set up for different sorts of contributions.

When I view individual contribution records, search for contributions, or run a Donor Summary Report (or report from that template), everything works as expected and the financial type is shown correctly (e.g. 'Tickets', 'Individual Contribution').  But when I run a Bookkeeping Transaction Report (or report from that template), all my historical data is shown with the new financial types (e.g. 'Event Fee', 'Donation').

Each of my financial types has it's own income account, so its not the case that I'm confusing the two.

I cannot reproduce the issue on the demo server, which suggests that rather than a bug in the report, something went funny with my data during the upgrade.

Any idea what might be causing this and what I might do to remedy it?

Thanks.

Ok, on further exploration it turns out this is caused by the fact that individual price set fields now have their own Financial Type that defaulted to 'Event Fee', even though the events they were used for had a different Financial Type.

I have edited all my price sets (a chore!) to fix future transactions, but would appreciate it it if someone could help with some SQL to revert my historical transactions.
