Help with Civinode module in Drupal
March 29, 2008, 09:25:01 pm
Does anybody here have experience using the civinode module with Drupal?  For ease of access, I need to have my CiviCRM contacts available as nodes in Drupal so I can display some of their information on the front page.  I've tried to use it, but haven't had any luck.  And yes, as will be suggested, I did post to the issue queue for civinode on drupal.org, but got no help.  I'm hoping someone here has experience with this module.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that civinode does not work with civicrm 2.0.

Would be great to get a module that integrates civicrm + cck + views and give folks the power to use a combination of the three. I'm not sure how realistic this is, but from what i've heard i think this should be possible with drupal 6 + views 2 + civicrm 2.1

I can confirm that CiviNode doesn't work with Drupal 5.7 and CiviCRM 2.0.1.

same here not working.
Maybe someone needs to take over this module since it seems like it has not been touched for about a year?
Since I am in need of this I will try and squeeze it in.

We're having the same problem.  Alfred...are you really going to work on updating Civinode?  We'd be forever grateful.

I really believe so.
Once civi works in drupal 6 we are moving a large project into it and part of the work will be this relationship feature.
Unless there is a better way to relate Civi<-->Drupal
Though it may be an update to CiviNode or new.

If you want to get started, you can use the trunk version of civicrm which is running on drupal 6. We've been developing on it for quite some time and i think we've got most of the integration work done

note that trunk is in a state of constant change, so u'll need to update on a regular/daily basis. It will also be buggy compared to a production release. However we are getting to a pretty good state with the 2.1 version, so might help you jumpstart your development process

Okay lobo.
I will look up the trunk download.
My development time though will not open up till mid June as that is when that project and time opening happens.
I am looking forward to this. Been running Civi for a bit at a few offices and am seeing how much can be done if I can wrap the drupal abilities around it too.
Thanks for all the work.

I have posted files and how to.
Civinode is working w/ drupal 5.x and civicrm 2.0.

I will work on a replacement for drupal 6.x and civicrm 2.1 in the next few weeks.

http://www.rivervalleytechcollective.org/civicrm_2_fixes is where you can find the needed files and help.

Maybe we can start a thread back here and documentation for this important drupal / civi module.

I am curious as to how the Drupal-6.x/CiviCRM-2.1 Civinode replacement is coming.

And would like to offer encouragement.  :)

It works but not nearly as nicely as CiviNode.
I connects itself to content types (you choose which ones)
Then you can choose and Individual and/or Organization to connect to the node
but it does not pull up a profile.
In the next 2 weeks a client wants me to use it to pull from a profile so I need to work on that.
Also to make it work better with views.
I need to learn more about views and cck really.
And it is tied to a database right now to take over the cck layout from Civinode but the next update will make it have
it's own database that relates it to node (nid).
So then I will release it though really cck and views would be nice.

Yes, CCK and Views support would rock -- elevating CiviCRM's utility dramatically.

Please let me know if you need help testing. I want to do what I can to help expedite both your release and the inclusion of CCK and Views support.

I have something that just attaches the Civi Individual and Civi Org to the drupal content types of your choice.
This is far from civinode.

http://www.rivervalleytechcollective.org/civirelate

It can be styled more and I think hooked via drupal.

It is just a carry over till I can learn more about cck and views.

I am also curious how the Drupal-6.x/CiviCRM-2.1 Civinode replacement is coming
and have there been any revisions to the civirelate module?

Thank you

Yes.

Still needs work but it does work like a CCK module

This is thanks to Silas Albrecht
