Anonymous Access to event list and links to register
March 29, 2008, 09:38:15 pm
I would like to set up the main page with links to view events as well as register for certain events. But I do not want to have to have people log into drupal, what would be the best way to do this?

Thank you,

Chris

Is this a civicrm page you are trying to expose as the main page for drupal? If so, can you give us the url?

I suspect you might need to create a custom page in Drupal and query the db to get the events you are interested in. You should check: http://drupal.org/project/civicrm_eventblock for ideas on how to extract and list civicrm events in drupal

I tried to add this module and I got a blank white page with:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare cmp_date() (previously declared in /var/www/html/CRM/sites/all/modules/civicrm_eventblock/civicrm_eventblock.module:52) in /var/www/html/CRM/includes/common.inc(1352) : eval()'d code on line 7

And now I cannot do anything, every page I go to has that error....

I fixed that by taking that modules folder out of the module folder.

Im not really sure of how the best way would be to set it up, I have got the small block php script which gets the title and date of the events, but I would like to have something dymanic on the main page with like to 5 upcoming events and all its information, date, location etc etc.

The block that I am using to display simple information on the events is http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/List+of+Upcoming+CiviEvents+or+Feed+of+Events?focusedCommentId=15248

Also, I would like to get the calendar working, I can get the calendar to display but is there any way for it to be dynamic instead of having to manually create entries?I can create another thread for this if you would like me to.

Thank you,

Chris

1. You'll need to read up a bit on drupal nodes/pages and how to create a php based node. I suspect it is quite similar to creating a block

2. With regard to the eventblock module, you might need to rename cmp_date to something else. Please file an issue against that module on drupal

3. We've asked folks in the community to help and write some docs on how to do the calendar + civievent integration:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Using+Drupal+Calendar+with+CiviEvent

unfortunately no takers so far. Maybe you can document it once you figure it out

Chris:

I found this link with regard to Calendar and CiviEvent. This should help you get started:
