Connection Error - Civicrm Drupal Public Extensions
June 12, 2013, 10:23:43 pm
Hi,

I am getting a Connection Error when I go to Administer/System Settings/Manage Extensions.  Sorry about the munging but I am not allowed to post external links.  I am attempting to connect to the Civicrm default drupal 7 extensions page.

Connection Error
The CiviCRM public extensions directory at REMOVED LINK could
not be contacted - please check your webserver can make external
HTTP requests or contact CiviCRM team on CiviCRM forum.

I checked the url from my webserver with curl and wget and was able to connect and download the file.  Curl output can't be posted because it has external links and I can't post those.

This is a new install (3 days ago) of Civicrm 4.3.3 with Drupal 7.22 using php5.4, mariadb 5.5 and nginx 1.4.2.

I am able to manually download an extension and have it appear in the extensions list.  I've checked all my logs - watchdog, civicrm log, php, nginx, mysql - and no error messages. Cleared all caches. Did everything I could think of.  Found the error message code in the Browser.php file put I don't know enough about php to be able to troubleshoot it.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Terry

Hi,

It looks like a bug that is solved in 4.4:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-13141

Also, check if you have CURL extension on PHP, I had the same error here in a new server before installing it.
