Using CiviDiscount
June 15, 2013, 06:26:09 am
I have installed CiviDiscount, I have set up a discount code, but at present there is no field on my CiviEvent registration forms allowing me to actually enter the discount code. I seem to have missed a setting somewhere. Can anyone help?

Is it a paid event?  Is the discount you created applied to the price set used in that event?
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.

Also, make sure the event is public.

Hi,

The discount is applied to the price-set, and I have made the event public. Still no trace of a discount voucher box. Any other ideas (and has the functionality been tested/verified in wordpress - if not, I will check it in the sandbox).

The function definitely works in WordPress. I see you are using CiviCRM ver 4.2. I remember it working with 4.2.7 but currently we use 4.3. Make sure you have the most recent version of the extension (2.1).

double Check the following settings with the discount code:

- You have it set to apply to an event.
- You have the price set(s) items selected that the discount applies to.
- discount is active checkbox is checked
- if you have set effective dates make sure the range cavers the current date.

The discount code box should appear at the top of your registration form with a 'Apply' Button.

Double check everything. If it still doesn't work can you post a screen shot of your discount code setup screen?

Dear all,

Thanks for the tips. The problem was that I didn't realise that I had to set the price-set AND the event-name for it to work.

My discounts are working perfectly, and I must say am super-impressed at the module functionality. If I get some time, I'll try and write some of this thread up into the Wiki.
