CiviCRM 4.3.4 on WordPress - bad tokens

There are two problems with our CiviCRM installation on WordPress. We upgraded from 4.3.2 to 4.3.4 to try and resolve this, but they're still troubling us: -

1) The tokens in the mailing include the '/wordpress' part in the URL. If we change the civicrm.settings.php file, to exclude that part, then the system breaks, e.g. missing images.

2) Within mailing footers, the tokens to 'View this mailing as a webpage' don't work.

We see the following error -

I have checked that anonymous users can view mailings, so it shouldn't be a permissions issue.
