Payment processor error using Authorize.net ...
March 30, 2008, 10:05:00 pm
I am receiving the following error when trying to process test transactions via my contribute form:

Payment Processor Error message:
35:Unknown SSL protocol error in connection to certification.authorize.net:443

I am forcing SSL in my resource URLs for all my contribution pages.  Our SSL is using the full "https://www.address..." so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here?

Is this a problem on the Authorize.net side?  Do I need to tweak a setting in our authorize.net account?

I don't think we've seen that error before. Have you tried doing a Google / net search on the error message? If that doesn't help, best to contact Auth.net / check their support site etc.

Yes, here's the fix from Authorize.net.  You need to use the following as the test transaction URL:

https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll

At least in our case ... not sure if we need to make this note on the CiviCRM documentation pages since we have https://test.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll   listed for test transactions.

If you have an Authorize.net account you should use the "secure" URL for both test and live.

I've updated our documentation to reflect this - can you check that it matches your understanding / tweak if needed:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Authorize.net+Configuration

(it's in the yellow "note" block)

Yes, that looks fine.  Thanks.
