no confirmation emails are being sent

Hi,
I have searched high and low for solution in the forum and read just about every post i can find..
For some reason my confirmation emails are not being sent at all , when public register for an event .. I am totally baffled ..
I have tested the mail function and it works
I have the send confirmation email checked Yes

i am sure it must be something simple ...
Can someone please help ?

Do you get any error on thank you page? Can you provide more details about the workflow.

Hi Morgana. I'm sure I'm running a stupid question but... Are you sure you checked the right radio button?
In my backend I have the YES button above YES and the NO button above NO and by YES right side... I did this mistake the first time. I wrongly clicked on the NO button thinking it was YES because it was just by YES side. And then When I clicked the real YES button I had all the email configuration options appearing.

Hi Kurund Jalmi,
Seeing i am in the initial stages of setting up this site , I am not even sure if i have all the configuration options set correctly ..
I can tell you that i have 5 events running that are all free ..

They are all supposed to be sending a templated (default - set by the system)  confirmation email to the user ...YES?
DO i need to do anything other than , select the option to send confirmation emails in the event ?

i have not altered the basic set up for this , other than to test that email was sending ..

Might be best if i gave you private access to the site , so you can see , as i currently have the menu items hidden for public ..

is it ok if i PM you ..

p.s i love this system( in a geeky kind of way ) is so robust and has so many great and well thought out features.

Its not stupid LOL! and yes i have checked the correct setting ..
