civix uninstallable

It does not appear to be possible to install Civix using the normal instructions.

Anyone know how to get it installed?
(apols if this constitutes cross-posting, I thought the post on github might inform the dev, but I thought I post here might tell me of a hack of some sort to get it working manually)

Found the problem: (1) edit the composer.json file, (2) remove the composer.lock file.
Also updated as comment at https://github.com/totten/civix/issues/16
