DB Error: insufficient permissions
July 02, 2013, 12:02:31 pm
Hi,

I don't know if anyone can help me with this, but I am truly hoping someone can. I have installed and created an event using CiviCRM. The Test Registration works perfectly but the Live Registration comes up with DB Error: insufficient permissions after the initial page.  ???

I cannot for the life of me seem to work out what the issue is so if anyone has any suggestions I would be eternally grateful!  :-*

Are all authorizations for your MySQL user the same between the live and test server?

Hi Erik,

I've checked and both are the same. I did wonder if it was something that I had done but I tried it out on my site (I am currently trying to help a friend with theirs) and it works to perfection on mine. No issues whatsoever running on Joomla 3.1 with CiviCRM 4.3.4.

I have tried deleting the entire microsite that I created for them plus joomla and civi and then tried reinstalling but still no joy. Their main site runs on Joomla 2.5.

Here are the combinations I have tried but nothing seems stable on their site (beginning to wonder if it is to do with their webhosts);

1. Joomla 2.5 & CiviCRM 4.3.3
2. Joomla 2.5 & CiviCRM 4.3.4
3. Joomla 3.1 & CiviCRM 4.3.4

I deleted and restarted the site from scratch each time (It's not very big) and nothing seems to work. I keep getting the same error.

I haven't been able to find anything as comprehensive as CiviCRM without my friend having to pay big bucks that they cannot afford.

Beginning to pull my hair out now!

Please make sure you stop pulling before you are entirely bald :-)

I agree that moving the site to another hoster might make a difference. Have you tried their site on another server yet, or even at your localhost? That might well be a next check before you do anything else.
