rights to run installer?
July 07, 2013, 03:21:22 am
I am trying to install civicrm on wordpress following these instructions http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/WordPress+Installation+Guide+for+CiviCRM+4.3#WordPressInstallationGuideforCiviCRM4.3-6.LocateandBackuptheCiviCRMsettingsfile but when doing so the installer doesn't start. Instead it's telling me that I don't have the necessary rights to access this page. I'm the admin  :o

Any idea? Thanks in advance.

What URL exactly are you trying to access? Just enter the part after the sitename.com/ if you want.

Not sure then, but this is a WordPress issue--the installer works fine for the admin user. I usually install CiviCRM on a fresh WordPress site with just one admin user and it works fine there.

Have you check the permissions on the CiviCRM folder?

I didn't change anything in the CHMODs because the instructions didn't say so. But as far as I could see they are mostly at 740 or 710.

The instructions don't mention that because usually it's not necessary. Change yours to 755 and try again.
