Import Activities - Assigned to field
July 14, 2013, 04:25:58 am
Hi there,

I'm trying to import activities from SugarCRM to CiviCRM. I can map every field except the Assigned to.

Since I can map the field With contact (External ID match to contact), wich seems to work similarly to Assigned to, why I can not import the field Assigned to?

Maybe I can not find the correct field due to italian translation or is there another way to achieve this?

You would need to explain what that field does and what you are using it for.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.

We use the field in a "standard" way, as reported in CiviCRM book.

Assigned to: the person (usually within your organisation) that will carry out (or has carried out) the activity.  :)

I really need help on this.

Is there a field which I can map to Assigned to? If not, how can I achieve this?  :)

currently import does not support the assignee / target fields. This would be a good enhacement to make to the import activity process

if you can contribute code to make that happen (or sponsor development if u r not a coder) that would be great and help the project move forward

Thanks for reply Donald!  :)

I can map the Traget with External ID or Contact ID, which is a required field, and the import seems to be correct. Am i wrong?

I'll try to implement it. Where can I find documentation or sample code to get started? If you tell me that Target field can be imported and that the field works similarly to Assigned to, maybe I can start with that.

Curious to know if you made any headway on this.

Our scenario is that we need to create a bunch of Activities that are 'assigned' to an organiser but which do not yet have the 'target'

I thought Import Activities would not be the way but thought I should check - and always good to hear back on this requests.
