Where do replies go when not forwarded?
July 14, 2013, 06:06:44 pm
I direct you to this post: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,18415.0.html

Last night I sent out a mailing and forgot to tick the box to forward replies when I ticked the box to track replies. There are now ten replies recorded. I have no idea where they have gone? Are they lost? Are they stored somewhere?

Because we are using CiviSMTP, the suggestions made in the above post do not seem to be relevant.

Sorry to be so obtuse on this but I still have not gotten a clear answer.

the reply-to address gets generated within CiviCRM so regardless of whether you use CiviSMTP or not it will get generated as described in the post you mentioned.

Do you have a copy of the email that got sent out with this mailing?
If so then check the headers, what's the reply-to address?

Following the set up instructions from CiviSMTP, I do not set a user name, password anything but what you said. Here is the full header from an email where only the Track Replies is ticked and the forward checkbox is not ticked. As you can see, the reply to is r.33973.21483793.5eaa2218f7a62e56@lists.democratsabroad.org

Where does this go if it is not being forwarded?

If tracking replies is set but forward replies is not set it appears that CiviCRM will just track it and then not do anything else with the reply.

It does not appear that there is any way to get the  reply content if forwarding was not set.
