Searchbuilder - searches for a membership type or membership status return nothi
July 25, 2013, 06:19:53 am
Civi version 4.3.3 and on demo 4.3.3

We ahve members with more than one type of membership, so advanced search will not find just those contacts. I thought I'd try searchbuilder and do an AND search
membership type = X and membership type = Y. Result was "No matches found"
Did a search builder search for just one membership type as a test - membership> membership type = XX (where XX is a member type selected from a dropdown).
Message was as follows:
No matches found for: Membership Type = 6
Did a similar search for membership status, and searchbuilder could not find anything
Only seems to work if you do a membership start date search. In which case it's easier to use advanced search.
Any suggestions on a simple way to find contacts with more than one current membership type?

I'm getting this too, after upgrading to 4.3.7.

An example:

Search builder criteria:

Electorate = Blue North  (Custom field) gives [Lots of] contacts

Membership Status = 2 ...AND...
Electorate = Blue North - gives NO contacts.

Same search with Advanced Search gives [very few] contacts:

Membership Status = Current ...AND...
Electorate = Blue North

if i had to guess search builder does not function correctly for membership status / types (and maybe other option values too)

If someone can investigate and contribute a patch that would be great

Looks like this was already solved in May for 4.4.0, but didn't get backported to 4.3.x. Issue was http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-12588

The patch from https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-core/commit/91a8f8b6ef4b0273a0c7cd70c2d34b1f1ecb9bf9.patch (Lobo's PR for CRM-12588) works fine (omits the test, but ...).
