Reading Bounces from sendmail mailboxes
July 25, 2013, 11:15:59 am
Hello -
We have installed CiviCRM 4.3.5 on Red Hat servers, and our sysadmin set up sendmail to catch bounced emails.  I would like to know what is the proper way to configure CiviCRM to read the bounced messages.
First I go to Administer->CiviMail->Mail Accounts.  Then I select the account used for bounced processing.  I have the emails that are bouncing going into a "catch-all" mailbox, let's call the account I use "catchall".  All the bounced messages go into a file, /var/spool/mail/catchall.  I should set the protocol to "localdir", correct?  What do I set the source to?  Am I supposed to set the servername to the server that "catchall" would log into, and set username/password for the catchall account?
Does this seem correct, or is there a different way to set this up?
Thanks
