Is it possible to

(A) allow contacts to anonymously update their information via a personalized URL (with {contact.contact_id}&{contact.checksum}) emailed out (as described here: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,22083.msg92521.html#msg92521)

-- but

(B) also have a directory only viewable by logged-in users?

CiviCRM Cookbook suggests that (A) is possible when the "Profile Listings and Forms access" is set to anonymous and authenticated users -- but this then prohibits (B).

http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,26867.msg114162.html#msg114162 suggests that (A) and (B) are possible by using ACLs, but I can't seem to get the form from the personalized URL to be accessible -- in short, I continue to need to have "Profile Listings and Forms access" set to anonymous and authenticated users.
