"component_id" field for activity types
April 02, 2008, 06:13:25 pm
2.0 has this new component_id field in the option_value table.  The upgrade .sql file currently creates new option values for the activity_type group (CRM/Upgrade/TwoZero/sql/activity.mysql:122).  However nothing is placed into the component_id field.  Is this field even being used yet?  Will not populating this field cause issues?

dave:

The component_id field was added to identify the component to which activity_type (Event Registration/Contribution/Membership Signup, etc) belongs,  component_id being foreign key to civicrm_component.

Right that part I figured out.  However the upgrade script doesn't populate this field.  Is this going to be a problem?

Upgrade script doesn't handle this, but IMO, it shouldn't cause any problem.
