Hi

I need some advice please.

I am working on an application that needs to integrate Joomal 2.5, Virtue-mart 2.0.22a (Joomla Shopping Cart) and CiviCRM (4.3.+)

We need to be able to track and report on purchases in Virtue-mart and keep track of contacts and their items purchased together with any relationships between the purchasers and Giftees in CiviCRM , triggered on the Virtue-mart payment confirmed process.

I have got processes in place to hook into the Virtue-mart cart that triggers a set of methods that insert two different types of Individual Contact, with their addresses and the cart details (using the api).

I now want to have details of the items purchased in Virtue-mart inserted for marketing and email newsletters in CiviCRM.

I have had a look a Contribute but am not sure if it is suitable for what I need:

I need to:

• Record purchases with Virtue-mart shopping cart ID, amount and details of the items in the shopping cart for the Purchaser Contact (the payment has already been processed by Virtue-mat) No processes or Payments required.
  
• Record details of the same Virtue-mart cart but for those items that have been gifted to a Giftee Contact (I can create the Contact details of the Giftee using the api).
  
• Create a connection between the Purchaser and the Giftee.
  
• Be able to search and create Reports on the sales for marketing and bulk email purposes.
  

My questions are:

• Can CiviCRM contribute be customised for me to do this?
• OR do I need to create a custom section/tab with all the relevant searches and reports?
