A CiviCon London question
August 01, 2013, 06:18:01 am
Well, it says anything and everything can go on this board, so...

I am seriously thinking about attending Civicon in London in October. It won't be a work trip and the airfare will cost more than $2000 so I am looking for reasonably priced accommodation.  I want hotel not hostel accommodation so I realise it won't be really cheap.  My knowledge of London is limited to 5 days in central London being a tourist.

Any suggestions for areas to stay? Alternatively, any suggestions about places I should avoid?  I don't need to stay in central London.  I do want somewhere within easy reach of the venue by public transport.  I don't want to inadvertently choose an area which is unsafe.

I have spent hours looking on Trip Advisor and booking services such as booking.com but find accommodation of the standard I want for the price I want to pay is in places I have never heard of.

If any Londoners have suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.
