Hello -

I have Joomla 2.5.14 and CiviCRM 4.3.5 installed. The problem we have is that we have 40 user groups in Joomla. Before we had all those custom groups, we were able to edit the CiviCRM permissions using the Joomla Access Control in CiviCRM admin. Now, however, when we hit "save" or "save and close" after updating the permissions, the change does not save and the popup redirects to the Joomla main configuration.

We are okay working around this by editing the DB directly, but we don't know what tables the permissions are set in. If there is a direct update to the DB that would work around this, then we would be happy to use it. Otherwise, a code fix would be great as well. Any thoughts on this?

We deleted all of our custom groups, and that made this issue go away. If you have only a handful of custom joomla groups, you are probably okay. If you plan to add a lot, adjust your permissions first or you won't be able to later.

I'm also experiencing this -- we only have 5 custom user groups in Joomla 2.5.19, and civiCRM 4.3.7, and when we set Joomla permissions, the change does not save and the popup redirects to the Joomla main configuration.

Any one have any suggestions how this can be resolved -- without deleting Joomla user groups???
