CiviCRM 4.3.4

I just sent out our first bulk email for our organization and had a couple of bounces that I could not explain. The bounce reason is "syntax".

I also tried sending using the send mail action after selecting the two contacts that bounced. The mail was not received so I assume it bounced but I can't see the logs.

The addresses are in the format

info@vnanimalwelfarefare.org
firstname.lastname@vnanimalwelfare.org (real name masked)

I reported a similar problem back in 2009 with Democrats Abroad but haven't seen the problem come up recently. I'll check some of the recent mailings for DA

These are valid email addresses and sending through another client is successful.
