Drupal administrator can't access event registration page
August 06, 2013, 11:37:50 am
I am logged in as uid=1.  I have created an event and enabled online registration, and I set the beginning of the registration period as yesterday.  When I click the "Register Now" button on the event page, I see "You do not have permission to view this event ... Access Denied ... You are not authorized to access this page".   Really?  I can't access an event registration page while I'm logged in as an administrator?

Meanwhile, I see the administrator role can access old registration pages, just not this new event registration page.  So I figure it's not likely a permissions issue.

What are some possible reasons why uid=1 would not be able to view an event registration page?

Thank you

I figured out the problem.  The "Register Now" button uses an absolute URL, not a relative URL.  Why that is, I don't know.  In any case, clicking on that button took me from my dev site to the production site.

Also not sure why I got the "You do not have permission to view this event" rather than a 404, since the production site has no event at that URL.  The message is misleading.

I now see there is a place in the civicrm.settings.php where I can configure a baseurl, so I will add a condition there to use my dev URL when on the dev server and the production URL when on production.
