CiviCRM Installer blank page

Specs: Windows Server 2012, MySQL 5.1, PHP 5.4 (tried PHP 5.3 also), CiviCRM 4.3, and Wordpress 3.5.1
Directory locations are writable - /plugins/civicrm & files

After activating CiviCRM plugin I proceed to Settings/CiviCRM Installer only to stare at a blank screen.

Any ideas anyone?

Can you look in the server error logs for an error message?

May be that the CiviCRM files must be executable, so check that permission.
