Paypal payment not made during membership sign-up/renewal

Hi,

I have recently upgrade my site to 1.9 and have since had difficulty using Paypal Express to process membership payments.  My hoster, Site5, doesn't support MySQL 5 yet, so I cannot upgrade to 2.0.

1. The HUGE issue is that membership sign-ups and renewals succeed without payment.  The contributions log for users shows that a payment of $0 was successfully processed, not the correct amount for the membership.  This has been working for almost a year before I upgraded to 1.9.  All authenticated users have the "make online contributions" right.

2. Right now, I am getting the following fatal error attempting to launch the live page:

/modules/civicrm/CRM/Core/Payment/Form.php on line 115

3. Credit card information can be entered on the contribution page.  My understanding is that with Paypal Express, you shouldn't be allowed to do this.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

1. what version were u running before you upgraded?

2. Not sure how you can get a fatal error (pt 2) and still have a payment (pt 1)

3. PayPal Express is offered in conjunction with paypal pro. so the user has the option of either entering a credit card or going to the paypal site and processing the payment.

4. If you are just using paypal express (and not the pro part), can you try paypal standard

5. might be good to upgrade to 2.0, since that is the version we support (and bug fix if needed)
