August 15, 2013, 02:51:50 pm
Hi,
I've got an issue with the currency settings in Civicrm which is set to AUD but when a user makes a payment via the paypal processor the currency is in USD and not AUD

I've looked everywhere to try and find out how to fix this but can fond the source of the issue.

the Civicrm version is 4.2.7.

anyone know how to fix this?

thanks

Marcel

I'm not very familliar with PayPal, but isn't there a setting in PayPal itself for the accepted currencies?

Also, please consider upgrading to at least 4.2.10 (the latest stable of the 4.2 versions). There were many bug fixes, including important security issues.

Yes and no. Yes you can set currencies in PayPal but you also set the currency in the data sent to paypal (thus overriding Paypals setting which in my case PAyPal is set to AUD).  In CIVICRM the currency is coming from the localisation. The localisation is set to AUD but is being transacted in USD for some of the transactions.
