Clone CiviCRM Navigation Menu Items
August 16, 2013, 10:32:46 am
I'd like to set up an admin menu for a specific role.  Civicrm navigation menu is fine (although I wish it were integrated with Drupal so I could just have one menu ...)  I can move items in the UI but cannot copy items.  Was wondering if I could just copy items directly with the database or if I'm going to break something obvious.  Open to suggestions on another way to integrate a single menu with drupal ...

Can't you just create a new item with the same name and path as an exsiting one?

Yes - but I have about 30 or so.  The goal is to provide a custom menu with frequently used tasks to shield the complexity of all the dropdowns.  I do not want to remove access to the main menu.  So yes, I could fill out the form with all of the menu items, but really want to copy/clone many of them.

Of course I'd be open to any other best practice for this.  I imagine it is a pretty common thing to want to shield a user from lot's of edge-case tools but still provide access (ie. do not rely on access permission to hide menu items.)
