CiviMail Domain Address - No Dropdowns for State/Country
April 04, 2008, 09:20:52 am
As it says, we're configuring it for the first time and, although it says to start typing letters - nothing appears.  So, silly me, I typed the various iterations of country and state (not that many) and none work... No drop down for either of these appears.

Please advise.

This is on Drupal 5.7 and CiviCRM 2.02

Just checked this screen on the 2.0.2 drupal demo, and it's working....

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/domain?reset=1&action=update

Do the state / country comboBoxes work on your site for "New Individual"? Might be a configuration issue that's causing problems with the javascripts (if that's also not working). First thing to check is Admin CiviCRM >> Global Settings >> Resource URLs

... also do a view source and copy one of the <script src=...> values into your browser location bar to see if the script is accessible at the location. Example of this from the demo site would be: http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/sites/drupal.demo.civicrm.org/modules/civicrm/packages/dojo/dojo/commonWidgets.js

Are you sure you the country and its provinces are set as available in the administration panel?

Administer CiviCRM → Global Settings → Localization → Contact Address Fields - Selection Values

It says it is -- shows United States in the country and United States in the states...

Also, an item of notice, it's displaying numbers - like 1077 (which I guess is US?) - from the prepopulated info.

Still - anyone have ideas yet?

Didn't see a response from you for my previous diagnostic questions....

I"m having the same problems but they are also not showing some of the form fields.

Pulled this error out of FF. This occurs when I open any CiviCRM page. (Joomla)

Error: [Exception... "'Error: Bundle not found: validate in dijit.form , locale=en-us' when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]"  nsresult: "0x8057001c (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_JS_OBJECT)"  location: "<unknown>"  data: no]

Also seeing heaps of errors such as

Warning: Unknown property 'filter'.  Declaration dropped.
Source File: http://mysite.com/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/packages/dojo/dijit/themes/dijit.css
Line: 1140

Warning: Expected declaration but found '#z-index'.  Skipped to next declaration.
Source File: http://mysite.com/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/packages/dojo/dijit/themes/dijit.css
Line: 1212

Please help!

Woodsy

Haven't seen this error before. What version of CiviCRM are you using? What is the history of this installation (brand new, upgraded, etc.)? .. and of the problem (new install, happened right away VS. install was fine, then I did ...??? ) What version of Joomla are you running under?

I did a Google search on your error message and came up with a link that seemed to indicate a locale problem. Not sure what this means though:

Yes I've just done some more investigating, it seems to me to be specific to the country drop down and state fields.

or line 21 Char 51616 on dojo.js under /administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/packages/dojo/dojo/dojo.js

Side note: how can anyone look at a 78kb js in one line like that? crazy!

I'm running - Joomla 1.5.2
civicrm 2.0.2

Was a fresh install and imported on a different URL then migrated, made sure I updated all the Resource URLs etc. Anywhere else I should have updated the URL of the site?

I'll look at that URL you sent, thank. I'm in IIRC at the moment, if you want to discuss further.

Cheers Woodsy

Had this AND the no tabs issue - pretty much all the ajax for civicrm was broken.

Sure enough, once I got the right Resource URL in global settings, it all fixed itself!
