Thank You Programmers on Override GPS Coordinates for Event Location (tips too)

I just wanted to quickly give my thanks on behalf of Gateway Off-Road Cyclists gorctrails.com here in St. Louis for fixing the 'gps' bug that did not allow civi admins to alter existing GPS coordinates that were returned based on a street address. This was a big problem IF the coordinates showed the arrow off by 50 feet AND for organizations like ours that need to show locations that do not have physical addresses.

On top of that I discovered you can create a custom 'gps title' by entering the desired text in the 'address' field. For instance, instead of 13423 Allenton Road to represent Greensfelder Park, GORC can now list it as "Greensfelder Park - Allenton Road - Tower Lot" - this is great because there are 3 different trailheads we have to reference throughout our building season and the same address listing and lack of gps coordinate alteration prevented this. Good stuff for us!

We get local volunteers out to build and maintain trails and we needed to be able to show parking lots, trailheads and parks on our event location map. Previous to 4.3.5 you could only 'attempt' with a specific address and 9 out of 10 times the arrow dropped was miles off.

So, again, thank you for the bug fixers and code gurus that keep improving CiviCRM. Our organization flows so much better behind the scenes with all the data that is captured and searchable with civiCRM.

Thanks again,

Matt Hayes
