Dump 1.9 to get to 2.0 and beyond?
April 04, 2008, 12:26:32 pm
I want to upgrade to v2.0.2 from 1.9 and have reviewed all the documentation. However, I really don't have any 'live' content on the site and have developed very little in profiles, event descriptions, etc. The project I'm working on is moving VERY slow due to the client.

Can I just delete all the tables in my DB, uninstall CiviCRM 1.9, and begin again by installing v2.0 as a new install? Then, I know that I'll have to follow the upgrade steps to v2.0.2.

Seems easier (and cleaner?) than doing all the shell commands, debugging, etc. Of course, I must admit I'm a bit intimidated by the whole upgrade process. I'd appreciate it if you want to tell me that, as a newbie, I'm outta my "comfort zone" if I'm intimidated by the v1.9 to v2.0 upgrade instructions.

Thanks for any advice,
nuMedia

if you dont have any live content on your site, you can just download and install 2.0.2. You wont need to upgrade to any version till 2.0.3 comes out (which probably wont come out for the next month or so)
