CiviCampaign - Getting Started Guide?

So is there a "Getting Started" guide published anywhere? CiviCampaign was suggested to me as a tool I could use to assign contacts to specific Users. Currently we have created groups for each User and the User will see only the contacts assigned to them.

Is there a better way to assign contacts to just one user?

If you haven't already you should read book.civicrm.org/user
Discussion here on the forum can also be quite helpful but you would need to provide more detail about your use-case and what you're trying to accomplish.

That's the problem, I am trying to figure out how CiviCampaign actually works.

It does a lot of things so a more specific question would be helpful.
Can you explain what you mean by "assign contacts to just one user"?
