Find out number of Renewals
August 28, 2013, 08:37:21 am
Hello!

I am trying to find out the number of members that have renewed. I can see the year-to-date number on the CiviMember dashboard, but I want to be able to see this number for other years and date ranges.

Thanks!

Jessica -

There is a pretty simple way to do this.  When a member renews, there is an activity created called 'Membership Renewal'.  From the Search menu item, choose Activities.  You can then specify date ranges etc. and check the box for the Activity 'Membership Renewal'.  The system will find any contact with that activity during the date range you specify.  The advantage here is that even though a member may have multiple renewals, it will only show you the ones during the specific date range for which you are interested.

This is why it is especially important, when entering memberships from the back end to always enter renewals correctly as opposed to entering a new membership.  This seems obvious but we've had training issues around this process so I thought I'd mention it.

Good luck! ;)
