Issues with installing with Wordpress
August 29, 2013, 08:28:08 am
Good morning everyone, hoping you can assist.

Running most current version of WP, trying to install CiviCRM.
while executing the requirements check, I am all green except on
"are the access credentials correct" : That username/password doesn't work:  - I have verified my DB credentials are correct quite a few times.

"Can I access/create InnoDB tables in the database": Unable to create InnoDB tables. MySQL InnoDB support is required for CiviCRM but is either not available or not enabled in this MySQL database server. Could not determine if mysql has innodb support. Assuming no  - I assume this is due to the above error

"Can I create temporary tables in the database   Could not login to the database."

"Can I create lock tables in the database   Could not login to the database."

"Can I create triggers in the database   Could not login to the database."

Everything else is good. Thanks ahead of time for the assistance

1. ensure that you can login using those credential using PHPMyAdmin and/or the mysql command line

2. If the above is working, ensure that the username/password does not have spaces or any non-alpha numeric characters (this is a shot in the dark)

Yes, all the other errors are due to the credentials not being correct. Be sure the server address is correct and check for a non-standard default port for MySQL or a pipe.

Then try changing the password for the user, or make a new user. It sounds like you're making a human error and just not catching it.

I am having the same issue. Is it correct that the MySQL server can remain localhost, and that the MySQL username and database name are the same? I am able to log in via myPHPadmin with the credentials I have entered. I got the names and password out of my wp config file. Or does civi need a separate database?

CiviCRM does not require a separate database and the DB server can be localhost. I can't say what the problem might be however.

Did you create the civicrm database?  For my web host, I have to create the database for civiCRM in my control panel.  The CiviCRM install doesn't create it.  You don't want to use the WordPress database.  Create a separate one for CiviCRM

Hello

Not sure if this has been resolved, I am getting same error message.  The CivicCrm is installed on Wordpress 3.8 as plugin, and uses the same database as WP, the credentials are ok as its able to create the tables but not lock tables.  Everything else comes OK with doing the compatibility check.  Our setup is as follows

Hosting type: Shared hosting

Attached is output from CRM requirement check

I am only getting 3 errors in Database

zaffarn, I would ask your host about this. It seems they have limited the permissions of your MySQL user.

o_moaka, CiviCRM uses standard PHP methods to connect to MySQL. If it fails to connect, then your credentials are incorrect. I suggest you ask your host for assistance.

i just run this script for both db :
$dbcnx = @mysql_connect('localhost', 'root','password');

if (!$dbcnx)
{
  die ("<p>Unable to connect to the database server at this time.</p>\n" . "<p>" . mysql_error() . "</p>\n");
}
echo "<p>Connected to the database server!</p>\n";
echo "</p>\n";
echo "<p>End of script!</p>";

and it outputs Connected to the database server....so credentials are correct....the problem is other but i don't now which

I finally managed to make green all my requirements after I replace localhost with 127.0.0.1.
But now I'm having another problem. After I click Install Crm, a 500 Internal Server occured(The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.). The db is populated but the crm.settings.php doesn't appear.

I solved that by making a php.ini file with -- memory=20MB content and put it into wp-admin/ folder.
Maybe this info will help somebody  :)
