Migrating data from older Drupal and Joomla instances to a new Drupal instance
August 29, 2013, 09:21:50 am
I have two dated instances running under Joomla and Drupal respectively. What's the best strategy for moving data from the old instances into a new Drupal environment hosting 3 separate instances?

Thanks in advance for some much needed guidance.

Randy

might want to give a few more details on your dated instance

bottom line, u'll need to perform an upgrade (maybe multiple upgrades) from your instance to the latest version

Existing Drupal install:
Drupal 6.17
Civicrm 2.2.9

Existing Joomla install:
Joomla 1.5.20
Civicrm 3.4.7

Drupal site running on local server running 10.4 release of Mac OS X server
Joomla running on shared server in hosting service, therefore no access to server software itself.

I'd like to setup new dedicated drupal server for new organization and then move these two existing civicrm environments to it. I know the existing Drupal install started with civicrm 1.x and has been upgraded to current version. Joomla environment has been static since inception.

Thanks,
